ESL , EFL 1st Grade Lesson Videos: Teach and learn English vocabulary, grammar and sentence structures using these video lessons. Lessons include greetings, colors, how to count from one to ten, animals on the farm, fruit, body parts, family members and more.
Grammar: Ask questions about a person’s age by using the phrases “How old are...?/How old is...?”. This lesson also introduces a non-question word to aid in asking about age. Kids will also use the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person singular with the verb ‘to be’.
Grammar: Use the phrase ‘How many...?’ to ask the number description of a given noun and suggest that the noun can be counted. Look at both the plural and singular form of the nouns. Add an ‘s’ to turn nouns into the plural from the singular. With some nouns, it is trickier, though. Recognize that numbers are generally adjectives.
Grammar: Use fruits in the plural form, and learn to use the articles ‘a’ and ‘an’ and how to distinguish when to use which. Use ‘a’ when a noun has a consonant sound, and use ‘an’ when the noun has a consonant sound.
Topic: Prepositions of place and toys vocabulary lesson.
Vocabulary: toys - teddy bear, robot, car, ball, balloon, block. prepositional phrases - in, on, under, next to, behind
Grammar: This lesson uses place positions to talk about where things are located. It also looks at contractions. It uses the prepositional phrases (in, on, under, next to, and behind).
